A BRIEF INTRODUCTION

Hello All,

Let me first start off this post by saying this is supposed to be a weekly thing, however, I bore easily and this nifty site may scare me away after a couple or so posts. So don't expect miracles, I'll blog when I feel like it. .... Anywho, into matters of fashion. which is why you're reading this isn't it? If you simply detest it then you're reading the wrong blog, because this is what this blog is all about, and I wouldn't want to bore you or waste any of your time, with my ramblings.... I think fashion is at a crossroads. ( This coming from the boy who wore high wasted socks with Lacoste sandals over the summer, don't ask it was a difficult time in my life, being mindfully fashionable wasn't big on my to-do list). It's no secret that this country is in a depression, but for the more optimistic bunch, recession. Whichever term you prefer best describes the meltdown of the economic system. However, economists predict that it shall be at its wits end by the end of 2009, let us hope so. It's my guess that that's probably what caused designers like Donna Karen to minimalize her collection for Fall/Winter 08. However her flowly aesthetic really was quite chic, and now with the country in the heart of it, American designers are really beginning to pick up on the economic frailty of the country and really flirt with it. I recall reading some journaslists article stating that "the time of overspending is over". I believe Marc Jacobs picked up on that for his Spring/Summer 09 collection, in which he showcased flapper 20's esque designs as his models sasheyed down the runways.

Any nim wit with half a brain can guess what he was eluding too, there. However, on the way to my Aunt's house in New Jersey, in a cramped coach class car for five long hours,( by the way some friends and aquaintances of mine believe I live a very entertained life. When in reality, my life is pretty dull, the only excitement I've had in my life in the last few days has been recieving a pair of UGG's from Saks for christmas and a Kenneth Cole sweater that my mother has to unhappily journey to get in Chicopee when we arrive back in town, because FedEx was darling enough to misplace my second package. I envy family friends who are on holiday in Paris and London, while I type away at midnight in New Jersey. Not that I'm complaining or anything. But then again those who view as living a highly entertained life also can not distinguish the difference between Coco Chanel and Coca Rocha, and the college that I currently attend which I will be leaving after this semester is literally where fashion comes to die, and soccer mom's thrive). I did spot a man with a Coach shopping bag full of presents, there is hope yet,but for some I worry, in the December issue one Vogue writer actually described shopping for clothes at Walmart and Target. I was in so much shock, I think I nearly dropped the magazine. Anywho I must come clean and admit I am one of those foolish optimistic types and I do believe that this "recession" will come to an end by the exit of 2009. I guess we'll just have to hope and see while we clutch onto our designer furs and wait.
